Raised Ink Business Card

Before the days that the personal computer obtained the ability to create professional level graphics, creating business cards was a time-consuming and often expensive process that was conducted at print shops, which held a virtual monopoly on all of our graphics needs. Sure, you could get through the process quickly and cheaply, but the final product would look quick and cheap.

Back in the day, every extra feature cost you more, from different sized cards to superior graphics to thicker card stock to raised ink. But now that the Internet, powerful home computers and sophisticated home printing machines have provided a universe of competition, many of these extras are no longer extra.

For example, raised ink print has joined the rank of features that the buyer has come to expect, so raised ink business cards are now seen as almost standard. When you go on those websites that advertise for "250 free business cards," raised ink is one of the options that are available for free.

So when it is time to create your own business card, don't be shy when it comes to asking for all the bells and whistles. They're out there, and the websites are fighting each other to provide them to you for free or as close to it as possible. Of course, if you do choose to have raised ink on your business cards, it does take away the option of printing at home, as your standard home printer does not include that feature.
